Understanding Child Sexual Exploitation
This 1-hour session provided by RISE Highland aims to provide you with knowledge, understanding and skills to respond to child sexual and criminal exploitation (CSE/CCE). The session will explore the following:
What is CSE/CCE?
What makes someone vulnerable to exploitation?
The Grooming Line
Push and Pull Factors
Contextual Safeguarding
Who can help?
This session is interactive, and participation/discussion will be required.
RISE Highland is a partnership project between Barnardo’s, Police Scotland, The Highland Child Protection Committee and The Highland Council. RISE Highland work collaboratively with families and agencies to upskill key people in a young people’s lives to provide education, support and to respond CSE/CCE concerns. Direct 1-1 and group work is available to young people who are either vulnerable or victim of CSE.
Who should attend?
All who have regular contact with children and young people and/or their family members should attend this training.
In particular those staff who:
• Have regular contact with vulnerable children and families
• Carry out direct work with children and families
• Contribute to assessments of children, including assessment of risk
• May be required to support the development and delivery of the Child’s Plan
• Have specific responsibilities in regard to child protection
