Rhona is currently a PhD student at Queen’s University Belfast exploring the realisation of babies’ rights in Scotland having completed a MSc in Children’s Rights at Queen’s University, Belfast (2023) under Professor Laura Lundy where her dissertation focused specifically on the invisibility of babies in children’s rights policy and practice.
She is also a freelance consultant working with a range of arts and voluntary sector organisations. This includes working with Starcatchers, Scotland’s arts and early years organisation, an organisation Rhona was previously Chief Executive of, overseeing its development from a pilot project in 2006 to an organisation that works locally, nationally and internationally pioneering approaches to arts and creativity with babies and young children. Rhona is also currently evaluating the CARAVAN Creative Europe project which is exploring the impact of artist engagement in early learning and childcare settings in The Netherlands, France and Catalonia.
Rhona is a Trustee of Together (Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights) and chairs the Advisory Board of the Playground initiative in Kent.
