Scotland’s Framework for Practice: Child Criminal Exploitation
Led by Director of Criminal Exploitation UK, Action for Children
The framework aims to bring together knowledge, learning and the voice of lived experience to support agencies recognise, intervene and support children who may be at risk.
Overview of the training
- Introduce the Child Criminal Exploitation Framework
- Increase awareness and knowledge on current legislation, policy and practice that applies to child criminal exploitation
- Raising awareness of Child Criminal Exploitation to Assist Professional Responses
- Improve confidence to question whether Child Criminal Exploitation is occurring
- Being more confident in knowing what action to take to respond to criminal exploitation
- Recognise criminal exploitation as part of continuum of exploitation, is child abuse, and is a child protection concern.
Who should attend?
All who have regular contact with children and young people and/or their family members should attend this training.
In particular those staff who:
- For practitioners supporting young people at risk of, or being exploited into criminal activity.
- Discuss core elements of the framework to support practitioners to identify, assess and respond to criminally exploited children
- Explore and discuss the policy landscape surrounding criminally exploited children
Who is the training for? All agencies supporting children who may be vulnerable to, or being exploited.
Including; Social work, police, education, health, voluntary sector.
