Harmful Parent-Child Interactions
This 3 hour course is currently being delivered via MST and is designed to help practitioners who are concerned about the emotional maltreatment of a child or young person. The course provides a framework to help staff to identify this type of abuse which is often unintentional. It assists with the appropriate vocabulary with which to record concerns within their agency assessment. Prior to attending the course; practitioners must be prepared to think about some of the families they work with where they suspect emotional maltreatment may be a feature and about whom they are happy to discuss (anonymously) in the training.
The training will be beneficial for the following staff :
Health, social care, education, and 3rd sector agencies who have direct and regular contact with children and their families.
This is the Direct Contact workforce or Specific Contact Workforce (National Framework for Child Protection 2012) or those staff working at levels 3-5 (Intercollegiate Document 2019).
This event is fully booked.
