DESCRIPTION:WRAP+ EVENTS – Understanding and Responding to Radicalisation
  in relation to Children and Young People\n\nThe Highland Child Protection
  Committee have organised two workshops which build on previous WRAP brief
 ing sessions but have a specific focus on issues relating to children and 
 young people within the PREVENT agenda. These sessions will be delivered b
 y CONTEST Sergeant Mel Fowler from Police Scotland who has a wealth of kno
 wledge about radicalisation and the PREVENT process. PREVENT is part of th
 e UK Government’s approach to counter terrorism.\n\nEach session will co
 ver:\n• Historical context\, definition and types of extremism\n• Indi
 cators of vulnerability and risk\n• Signs of grooming and radicalisation
 \n• Roles and responsibilities\n• Possible interventions and the de-ra
 dicalisation process\n• Understanding the Prevent Professional Concerns 
 Process\n\nNB: These sessions are specifically targeted at those practitio
 ners who have direct and regular contact with children and young people.
