DESCRIPTION:Trauma informed practice – Level 2\n\n 2 HOUR COURSE\n\nPlea
 se note this Course is delivered online via Google Meet – it is not nece
 ssary to have an account to join.\n\nThis training is designed for staff w
 ho have regular contact with children and/or families\, including those wo
 rking within adult services\, or those who manage them.\n\nThe course cove
 rs the content of the first level of the National Psychological Trauma Tra
 ining plan.  Content is adjusted according to the particular group attend
 ing to ensure it is relevant for their particular service context\, and th
 e Practice Model is used as a framework throughout. People who have attend
 ed equivalent trainings from NES or elsewhere may still find this of use a
 s it connects the agenda to a Highland context.\n\nIt is also a foundation
  for more advanced learning available on the CPC calendar as a two part\, 
 Level 3 course – Simple &amp\; Complex Trauma\, and ACEs and Development
 al Trauma.  These cover the knowledge parts of levels 2 and 3 of the nati
 onal framework.\n\nWhat can I expect from this training?\n\nBy the end of 
 this training\, staff should:\n\n 	Know how common trauma is and understan
 d different types of trauma and their impact\n 	Understand how people with
  traumatic memories experience situations\, including how children of diff
 erent ages present\n 	Know how to respond to a known traumatic event\, or 
 to help people with the consequences of trauma even when the history is un
 known\n 	Connect trauma informed practice to their core roles and to the P
 ractice Model\n 	Have some ideas for self-care and reducing the impact of 
 vicarious trauma\n\nWho should attend?\n\nAll staff who have regular conta
 ct with children and young people and/or their family members should atten
 d this training.\n\nIn particular those staff who:\n\n 	Have day to day co
 ntact with children of any age and families\n 	Carry out direct or indirec
 t work with children and families\n 	Provide specialist advice to those wh
 o work with children or families\n 	Manage services that work with childre
 n and families\n 	Develop policy and practice in organisations across the 
 CPC partnership\n
