The day is made up of three sessions\; the first provides an opportun ity to reflect on practice for meetings in general with the second and thi rd sessions concentrating on Solution Focused practice. It is therefore es sential that attendees have completed the Solution Focused Approaches Trai ning where attendees have become familiar with the principles and have pra ctised Solution Focused skills and techniques.\n\nAttendees will have the opportunity to apply these skills and techniques within a meeting forum an d learn about using solution focused approaches in meetings with different purposes\, including a systemic piece of work in a school and a meeting t o plan and review the support for an individual.\n\nThe overall objectives of the programme are to:\n\nSession 1 – Preparation for a good meeting: \n\n Develop knowledge of preparation for meetings\n Develop understandi ng of different perspectives when meetings are in person\, online and hybr id\n Develop understanding of the impact of different types of questions\ n\nSession 2 – Systemic Solution Focused Meetings\n\n Consolidate knowl edge of the solution focused approach\n Develop understanding of how a so lution foucsed approach can be used in meetings\n Build experience of usi ng a solution focused approach in meetings.\n\nSession 3 – Solution Focu sed Meetings for individuals\n\n Applying our knowledge and understanding of effective meetings e.g. in preparing and involving children and young people in meetings.\n Applying our knowledge and understanding of solutio n focused practice by using solution focused skills and techniques\n Deve loping skills in facilitating solution focused meetings.\n\nThe course com pliments the Highland GIRFEC training\, and the Solution Focused Approache s course is a pre-requisite for attendees.\n\nThe content will appeal to a wide range of practitioners within Education\, Health and Social Care – anyone who supports children and families. This may include\, Social Work ers\, Health Visitors\, Head Teachers\, Guidance staff\, School nurses\, A dditional Support for Learning staff and many more. Those undertaking or p reparing to undertake the role as Named Person or Lead Professional\, are invited to attend this course.\n\nThe venue and more details will be sent on booking confirmation. This session is aimed at those working with the a ssociated school groups of Dingwall\, Fortrose\, and Invergordon.\n\nWe as k you book the geographical area closest to your location of work to promo te connections made with colleagues in your area.
