The day is made up of three sessions\; the first provides an opportun ity to reflect on practice for meetings in general with the second and thi rd sessions concentrating on Solution Focused practice. It is therefore es sential that attendees have completed the Solution Focused Approaches wher e attendees have become familiar with the principles and have practised So lution Focused skills and techniques.\n\nAttendees will have the opportuni ty to apply these skills and techniques within a meeting forum and learn a bout using solution focused approaches in meetings with different purposes \, including a systemic piece of work in a school and a meeting to plan an d review the support for an individual.\n\nThe overall objectives of the p rogramme are to:\n\nSession 1 – Preparation for a good meeting:\n\n Dev elop knowledge of preparation for meetings\n Develop understanding of dif ferent perspectives when meetings are in person\, online and hybrid\n Dev elop understanding of the impact of different types of questions\n\nSessio n 2 – Systemic Solution Focused Meetings\n\n Consolidate knowledge of t he solution focused approach\n Develop understanding of how a solution fo cused approach can be used in meetings\n Build experience of using a solu tion focused approach in meetings.\n\nSession 3 – Solution Focused Meeti ngs for individuals\n\n Applying our knowledge and understanding of effec tive meetings e.g. in preparing and involving children and young people in meetings.\n Applying our knowledge and understanding of solution focused practice by using solution focused skills and techniques\n Developing sk ills in facilitating solution focused meetings.\n\nThe course compliments the Highland GIRFEC training\, and the Solution Focused Approaches course is a pre-requisite for attendees.\n\nThe content will appeal to a wide ran ge of practitioners within Education\, Health and Social Care – anyone w ho supports children and families. This may include\, Social Workers\, Hea lth Visitors\, Head Teachers\, Guidance staff\, School nurses\, Additional Support for Learning staff and many more. Those undertaking or preparing to undertake the role as Named Person or Lead Professional\, are invited t o attend this course.\n\nThe venue and more details will be sent on bookin g confirmation. This session is aimed at those working with the associated school groups of Dornoch\, Tain\, and Alness.\n\nWe ask you book the geog raphical area closest to your location of work to promote connections made with colleagues in your area.
