SUMMARY:Solution Focused Approaches Training - In person\, Golspie Communit
 y Centre
DESCRIPTION:Solution focused practice consists of a range of approaches to 
 solving problems that are both effective and rewarding.\n\nSolution focuse
 d working can be effective as a way of:\n\n 	having “short conversations
 ” with colleagues or children and young people\n 	in-depth work with an 
 individual over a period\, or one-off sessions\n 	changing the “ethos”
  of a group\, class or organisation\n 	building team approaches\n 	providi
 ng staff support and development\n 	structuring formal meetings\n\nThis sk
 ills based course will cover as many aspects of work as possible where a s
 olution focused approach might be helpful.  Following an introduction to 
 solution focused principles\, the course has been designed to be interacti
 ve\, with group and paired work throughout the day to practise solution fo
 cused techniques and reflect on these. To ensure the best learning experie
 nce\, full-day attendance is essential.\n\nThe course compliments the High
 land GIRFEC training and is a pre-requisite for attending the Solution Foc
 used Meeting course.\n\nThe content will appeal to a wide range of practit
 ioners within Education\, Health and Social Care – anyone who supports 
 children and families. This may include\, Social Workers\, Health Visitors
 \, Head Teachers\, Guidance staff\, School nurses\, Additional Support for
  Learning staff and many more. Those undertaking or preparing to undertake
  the role as Named Person or Lead Professional\, are invited to attend thi
 s course and the Solution Focused Meeting course.\n\nThe venue and more de
 tails will be sent on booking confirmation. This session is aimed at those
  working with the associated school groups of Farr\, KLB\, Thurso\, Wick\,
  and Golspie.\n\nWe ask you book the geographical area closest to your loc
 ation of work to promote connections made with colleagues in your area.  
 However the course is open to any practitioner working in any location in 
 Highland.\n\nPlaces are available free of charge but may be limited per te
 am/service/agency depending on demand.\n\nPlease note\, the CPC do operate
  a non-attendance charge of £30 if places are not taken up and no notice 
 is given (at least 48 hours before event).\n\nFor more information\, pleas
