SUMMARY:'Life Through a Lens: Our Stories Matter' - Conference
DESCRIPTION:Conference Information\n\nThis event aims to address the issues
  from childhood which can impact on people’s lives as they enter adultho
 od and beyond. By listening to\, and hearing people’s personal stories\,
  we begin to understand the issues and complexities which surround individ
 uals\, families and communities. You will hear individual accounts of dome
 stic abuse\, substance use\, child abuse and the justice system. Hosted by
  the Community Justice Partnership and Highland Child Protection Committee
  this event is open to all practitioners working with children\, young peo
 ple and adults who may have been affected by any of these issues.\n\nYou w
 ill have the opportunity to hear from a line up of insightful speakers inc
 luding: Darren McGarvey\, Luke Hart\, Matt Carey and Madeleine Black. The 
 day will be facilitated by James Docherty from the Violence Reduction Unit
 .\n\nPlease note\, this event will contain content which some attendees mi
 ght find distressing. If you have any concerns regarding this\, please con
 tact us or discuss with a line manager. Due to the content\, this event is
  not suitable for children and young people under 16 years.\n\nCoffee and 
 registration will be available from 9.30am. In order to allow time for the
  marketplace to be set up\, there will be no access to the venue before 9.
 15am. The main Conference will begin at 10am promptly. The event will fini
 sh by 4pm.\n\nBooking a Place\n\nPlaces are extremely limited and we expec
 t demand to be high. In order to avoid disappointment\, please book early.
  Whilst we will try and accommodate everyone\, we may need to limit places
  to 1-2 per team/agency. Please do not attend without booking confirmation
  as you will not be able to access the event. We will seek permission to s
 hare conference presentations on the website following the event.\n\nNB: I
 f you are booking 2 places\, please put the name of the other delegate in 
 the Comments box below.\n\nUnfortunately\, on this occasion\, VC facilitie
 s are not available.\n\nCancellation of Places\n\nIf you are no longer abl
 e to attend\, please let us know as soon as possible.  The Committee do a
 sk for a minimum of 24-hour notice of cancellation and operate a non-atten
 dance fee of £30 to cover costs.
