SUMMARY:Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Awareness Training - The Women’s 
 Support Project (online MSTeams)
DESCRIPTION:The Highland Public Protection Committees have secured one of o
 nly four practitioner awareness sessions being delivered nationally. This 
 provides a valuable opportunity to increase professional understanding and
  preparedness across Highland services. Please ensure you safeguard your d
 iary if you book for this event.\n\nAim of Training\n\nThis introductory a
 wareness session is aimed at practitioners who have limited or no previous
  knowledge of FGM. It will provide participants with the knowledge and con
 fidence to recognise risk\, respond appropriately\, and understand availab
 le support pathways.\n\nThis Training aligns with wider public protection 
 priorities and will strengthen practitioner confidence in recognising and 
 responding to FGM within Highland communities.\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\n· 
 Understand the different types of FGM.\n\n· Recognise key behavioural and
  physical indicators.\n\n· Develop awareness of the legal framework in Sc
 otland and the wider international context.\n\n· Understand professional 
 safeguarding responsibilities.\n\n· Increase knowledge of referral and su
 pport pathways.\n\n· Learn how to respond in a trauma-informed\, cultural
 ly sensitive\, non-stigmatising and supportive manner.\n\nPlease note the

  purposes
