DESCRIPTION:Join us for our first Community of Practice Session with speci
 al guests Bernadette Cairns and Lou Kinnear\; learn about why embedding th
 e strategy is so important and how some of our children from Armed Forces 
 Families have been involved since it launched.\nConnect with practitioners
  across Highland\, and hear from local and national voices\, to explore ho
 w we can meaningfully embed the Highland Children &amp\; Young People Part
 icipation Strategy in everyday practice.\nLou Kinnear leads Highland Counc
 il’s MLG (Education) partnership\, a tri service collaboration establish
 ed in 2018 that brings together Armed Forces representatives\, specialist 
 services\, third sector partners\, and\, most importantly\, children and y
 oung people.\nLou is the co author of My Rights to Wellbeing\, a training 
 resource designed to help educators amplify pupils’ voices and strengthe
 n emotional literacy\, resilience and empowerment. Over the past 15 years\
 , she has worked across Early Years\, Primary and Secondary contexts withi
 n Highland Council\, specialising in supporting children and young people 
 with complex Additional Support Needs and social\, emotional and behaviour
 al needs\, and providing advice\, guidance and training to staff.\nMonthly
  sessions will include:\n\n\n 	Presentations from local or national speake
 rs\n 	Q&amp\;A to deepen understanding\n 	Time for conversation\, networki
 ng and informal sharing to support collaboration across Highland\n\nTogeth
 er\, we’ll look at how others are working with children and young people
  to bring the Strategy to life and strengthen participation across service
 s.\nOur work is underpinned by the Lundy Model of Participation\, the UNCR
 C\, GIRFEC\, and The Promise.\nSupporting rights‑based\, inclusive and r
 elational practice.\nOpen to all practitioners engaging with children and 
 young people across Highland.\nThis session is suitable for all sectors an
 d any practitioner or manager working or engaging with Children and Famili
 es in Highland.\n\nThis is an online event.  Format will be presentation 
 (presentation recorded only cameras and mics will be switched during this 
 period)\, followed by question and answer session and group discussion (no
 t recorded).\n\nBooking link will be sent on confirmation of booking.
