DESCRIPTION:Assessment and Analysis in Child Protection\n\nThis training is
  designed via MS Teams for staff who have regular contact with children an
 d/or families\, including those working within adult services. This course
  takes a more in depth look at the different types of abuse and neglect\, 
 as well as giving participants information about managing disclosures and 
 handling sensitive situations.\n\nWhat can I expect from this training?\n\
 nBy the end of this training\, staff should:\n• Understand the importanc
 e of relating practice to theory and research.\n• Understand the initial
  assessments within Highland Practice Guidance.\n• Recognise the “3 st
 aged approach” to risk from the National Risk Framework.\n• Consider d
 ifferent methods of collecting and collating information around children a
 nd their family.\n• Recognise that analysis is a key activity in assessm
 ent.\n• Be able to discern from analysis\, what to do in order to protec
 t and promote the welfare of children\, including those who are suffering\
 , or at risk of suffering\, significant harm.\n• To recognise some of th
 e key pitfalls in child protection procedures\n\nWho should attend?\n\nAll
  staff who have regular contact with children and young people and/or thei
 r family members\, should attend this training.\n\nIn particular those sta
 ff who:\n• Have regular contact with vulnerable children and families\n
 • Carry out direct work with children and families\n• Contribute to as
 sessments of children\, including assessment of risk\n• May be required 
 to support the development and delivery of the Child’s Plan\n• Have sp
 ecific responsibilities in regard to child protection\n\nPre-requisites:\n
 \nStaff must have completed “Recognition and Response in Child Protectio
 n” or “Child Protection Planning Process” within the past three year
 s\, or have direct experience of working in the field of child protection.
 \n\nCourse\n\nThere will be pre-course tasks which will take approximately
  an hour to complete. The online course lasts 3 hours.
