DESCRIPTION:Assessment and Analysis in Child Protection\n\nThis training is
  designed for staff who have regular contact with children and/or families
 \, including those working within adult services. This course takes a more
  in depth look at the different types of abuse and neglect\, as well as gi
 ving participants information about managing disclosures and handling sens
 itive situations.\n\nWhat can I expect from this training?\n\nBy the end o
 f this training\, staff should:\n• Understand the importance of relating
  practice to theory and research.\n• Understand the initial assessments 
 within Highland Practice Guidance.\n• Recognise the “3 staged approach
 ” to risk from the National Risk Framework.\n• Consider different meth
 ods of collecting and collating information around children and their fami
 ly.\n• Recognise that analysis is a key activity in assessment.\n• Be 
 able to discern from analysis\, what to do in order to protect and promote
  the welfare of children\, including those who are suffering\, or at risk 
 of suffering\, significant harm.\n• To recognise some of the key pitfall
 s in child protection procedures\n\nWho should attend?\n\nAll staff who ha
 ve regular contact with children and young people and/or their family memb
 ers\, should attend this training.\n\nIn particular those staff who:\n• 
 Have regular contact with vulnerable children and families\n• Carry out 
 direct work with children and families\n• Contribute to assessments of c
 hildren\, including assessment of risk\n• May be required to support the
  development and delivery of the Child’s Plan\n• Have specific respons
 ibilities in regard to child protection\n\nPre-requisites:\n\nStaff must h
 ave completed “Recognition and Response in Child Protection” or “Chi
 ld Protection Planning Process” within the past three years\, or have di
 rect experience of working in the field of child protection.\n\nCourse\n\n
 There will be pre-course tasks which will take approximately an hour to co
 mplete. The In person course lasts 3 hours. A minimum of 12 people will be
  required for course to go ahead.
