DESCRIPTION:Assessment and Analysis in Child Protection\n\nThis training is
  designed for staff who have regular contact with children and/or families
 \, including those working within adult services. This course takes a more
  in depth look at the different types of abuse and neglect\, as well as gi
 ving participants information about managing disclosures and handling sens
 itive situations. \n \nWhat can I expect from this training?\n\nBy the end
  of this training\, staff should: \n•	Understand the importance of relat
 ing practice to theory and research.\n•	Understand the initial assessmen
 ts within Highland Practice Guidance.\n•	Recognise the “3 staged appro
 ach” to risk from the National Risk Framework.\n•	Consider different m
 ethods of collecting and collating information around children and their f
 amily.\n•	Recognise that analysis is a key activity in assessment.\n•	
 Be able to discern from analysis\, what to do in order to protect and prom
 ote the welfare of children\, including those who are suffering\, or at ri
 sk of suffering\, significant harm.\n•	To recognise some of the key pitf
 alls in child protection procedures\n\nWho should attend?\n\nAll staff who
  have regular contact with children and young people and/or their family m
 embers\, should attend this training.\n\nIn particular those staff who:\n
 • Have regular contact with vulnerable children and families\n• Carry 
 out direct work with children and families\n• Contribute to assessments 
 of children\, including assessment of risk\n• May be required to support
  the development and delivery of the Child’s Plan\n• Have specific res
 ponsibilities in regard to child protection\n\nPre-requisites:\n\nStaff mu
 st have completed “Recognition and Response in Child Protection” or 
 “Child Protection Planning Process” within the past three years\, or h
 ave direct experience of working in the field of child protection.\n\nCour
 se\n\nThere will be pre-course tasks which will take approximately an hour
  to complete.  The online course lasts 3 hours.\n\n
